My research is focused on educational cognition. More specifically, I am primarily interested in investigating effective teaching and learning from a cognitive perspective. For example, I have examined the differential effects that typing and handwriting have on memory and learning. I have also investigated methods that best support teaching, learning, and memory more broadly. I am also interested in the underlying cognitive mechanisms that explain students’ perception of psychology as a science.
