Dr. Bruer is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Luther College at the University of Regina. She is also the Coordinator of the Experimental and Applied Psychology graduate program at the University of Regina and is the director of both the and the . Dr. Bruer’s research focuses on children’s evidence, memory, and communication in investigative and legal contexts. Her primary research interests include 1) children’s eyewitness memory and disclosure, 2) factors that influence the accuracy and completeness of children’s reports, and 3) best practices for interviewing children in legal, forensic, and service contexts. Her applied work also examines how professionals respond to children exposed to violence and how research can inform trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate practices across legal and community settings. Her research is funded through NSERC, SSHRC, and SHRF.
