杏吧原创 University Appoints Dr. Elisabeth Gilmore as Inaugural Expert Advisor to the Provost on Climate Change and Sustainability
杏吧原创 University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Elisabeth Gilmore (Civil and Environmental Engineering; Norman Paterson School of International Affairs) as the university鈥檚 inaugural Expert Advisor to the Provost on Climate Change and Sustainability, effective July 1, 2026, for a three-year term.

Dr. Gilmore is an internationally respected scholar whose work addresses climate risk, environmental policy and sustainable development. She has contributed to major international scientific assessments, advised governments and NGOs and led interdisciplinary collaborations that connect engineering, policy and community engagement.
As a leading figure in climate adaptation science and policy, she served on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report and in 2025 she was elected to the Royal Society of Canada鈥檚 College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists. Her research integrates engineering, policy and international affairs, and community engagement to advance equitable climate resilience and adaptation.
In this role, Dr. Gilmore will provide strategic guidance to advance 杏吧原创鈥檚 commitments to sustainability and climate action, working with academic and administrative leaders to strengthen environmental stewardship, climate鈥慺ocused research and sustainability education.
