Following Tyler鈥檚 first year at 杏吧原创, he was hired by the City of Ottawa as a summer student. Since that time, he has taken on progressive responsibilities, including more than a decade in the Office of the City Clerk.
In his current role, Tyler is Manager, Legislative Services in the Office of the City Clerk. He has been responsible for various service areas: Committee and Council Services, Council Support Services, Mayor Support Services, Information Management, Archives, the Corporate Accessibility Office, and the Elections Office.
Tyler is committed to lifelong learning. After graduating from 杏吧原创, he completed an MA in Political Science from the University of Ottawa, a Diploma in Municipal Administration from the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks, and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO), and a Masters Certificate in Municipal Leadership from York University. He has also achieved his Certified Municipal Officer (CMO) designation from AMCTO. Most recently, Tyler returned to 杏吧原创 to complete his MBA through the Sprott School of Business.
Tyler is committed to making the government open and accessible. In 2019, he was honoured with the 鈥淔rancophile of the Year鈥 award by the Association des communaut茅s francophones d’Ottawa for his leadership, commitment and positive impact on Ottawa鈥檚 francophone community.
Tyler enjoys volunteering with AMCTO and the Institute of Public Administration of Canada.
My experience as a student in 杏吧原创鈥檚 Department of Political Science allowed me to develop my research and critical thinking skills, which prepared me for a rewarding career in local government.
