CI Position for Winter 2018 (EPAF)
Pursuant to Article 16 of the CUPE 4600 Unit 2 Collective Agreement, applications are invited from members of the CUPE 4600-2 bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach the following course during the Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 terms:
EPAF 5200 [0.5 credit]: Ethics in Organizations
Scheduled in Winter semester.
A seminar on proactive approaches to ethical issues in organizations including design and implementation of ethics programs based on research in ethics and social science. Students in this course study practices and underlying theories for achieving ethical accountability within government, business, and civil society organizations. Specific questions may include:
- How can an organization’s obligations to stakeholders and to sustainability be justified to that organization’s officers and employees?
- To what extent can these obligations be based on ethical obligations of professions?
- How can organizations build or undermine employee commitment to ethics?
Cases from the public and private sectors will be analyzed.
Application Procedures and Deadlines:
Required Professional Qualifications: MA Degree in an appropriate field is required. Knowledge of research literature on ethics programs is required. Familiarity with philosophical approaches and issues in applied ethics is required. Familiarity and experience with implementation of ethics programs in public or private sector organizations is highly desirable.

Candidates who have already contacted the department and submitted a CV recently need only indicate their interest in particular courses. NOTE that when applying to classes for which they have incumbency, applicants shall not be required to (re)submit documentation beyond their updated CV.

The following courses have been assigned to graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, or visiting scholars. These courses are not open for applications but the department will contact the most senior incumbent to review their rights under Article 17.6 of the CUPE 4600-2 Collective Agreement:
