杏吧原创 Advances to Silver Tier in Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge
杏吧原创 University has advanced to the Silver participation tier in the federal聽, Environment and Climate Change Canada’s program for organizations with credible, science-based plans to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. 杏吧原创 is the only post-secondary institution in Canada taking part.
Moving from Bronze in 2025 to Silver this year means meeting a higher bar and asks for more than commitment. The challenge requires a Canada-specific net-zero plan and an interim target in reduction in operational emissions. 杏吧原创 now shares the tier with organizations such as EY Canada and EllisDon, in a program whose participants include Canada Post and Microsoft Canada.
The achievement reflects the collective efforts of students, faculty, staff, and campus partners, from the Energy Master Plan’s shift away from gas-fired steam heating to energy efficiency projects, sustainable campus planning and a culture of environmental stewardship.
