Four 杏吧原创 Researchers Honoured by Royal Society of Canada

杏吧原创 University researchers, Jennifer Evans, Elisabeth Gilmore, Carmen Robertson and Richard Yu have been named to the , honouring the significant impact they have made in their respective fields.
“Congratulations to these outstanding scholars honoured by the Royal Society of Canada,” said 杏吧原创 University Vice-President, Research and International, Rafik Goubran.
“Their scholarly work exemplifies the curiosity, rigour and public purpose that define 杏吧原创’s leadership in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable world.”
Jennifer Evans
A professor in the Department of History, Jennifer Evans is a historian of contemporary Europe whose work explores memory, sexuality and visual culture. Her current projects analyze how photography and social media shape public understanding. As primary investigator of Populist Publics, Evans examines how historical misremembering functions as a form of misinformation in contemporary authoritarian and populist movements.
Evans has been inducted as an RSC Fellow. She was previously named to the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.
Elisabeth Gilmore
Elisabeth Gilmore has been named to the , . An associate professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, she is recognized for bridging engineering and public policy to inform urgent, effective and equitable climate action.
Her research examines how effective and inclusive institutions and participatory research enhance the transformational potential of climate adaptation. She is an active contributor to scientific assessments, including the 6th and 7th Assessment Cycle of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Carmen Robertson
A Scots-Lakota professor of Art and Architectural History, Carmen Robertson has been inducted as an RSC Fellow. Jointly appointed across the School for Studies in Art and Culture, the School Canadian Studies and Indigenous Studies, and the Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture, Robertson’s research centres around contemporary Indigenous arts and constructions of Indigeneity in popular culture.
She is the former Canada Research Chair in North American Indigenous Visual and Material Culture.
Richard Yu
Richard Yu has been inducted as an RSC Fellow. Yu works at the intersection of intelligent and autonomous systems, information networks and cybersecurity. A highly cited scholar with over 50,000 citations, his pioneering research has shaped industrial standards and has been implemented in products and services. He is a professor in the School of Information Technology and is cross-appointed to the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering.
Yu is a registered Professional Engineer, a Fellow of the CAE, EIC, IEEE and IET, and a Member of the Academia Europaea.
