Reporting in Indigenous Communities Students Featured in Globe and Mail

In 2023, Duncan McCue joined 杏吧原创 University鈥檚 School of Journalism and Communications and launched an important course: .

In his course, students travel to local Indigenous communities, and come back with a multimedia news story based on a central theme.

Most recently, students in McCue鈥檚 course collaborated with the Globe and Mail on two articles. The first story reports on the Pikw脿kanag脿n First Nation opting to buy their land back through the AOPFN Limited Partnership, and was published on May 30. .

The second article, which will be published on June 13, covers the Mohawk Nation of Akwesasne.
