Interim Chief Advancement Officer Announced
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Susan Phillips as 杏吧原创 University鈥檚 Interim Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), effective April 11, 2024. Until that date, I will continue in the role of Acting Chief Advancement Officer.
A two-time 杏吧原创 alumna (MA and PhD in Political Science), Susan is a professor and graduate supervisor in 杏吧原创鈥檚 Master of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership (MPNL) program in the School of Public Policy and Administration and served as director of the school from 2005 to 2014.
Susan has an in-depth knowledge of philanthropy, with 30 years of experience researching and collaborating with foundations, charities and non-profits. Her research focuses on philanthropy鈥檚 role in advancing systems change, public policy and regulation of charities, and sector-government relations.
As Interim CAO, Susan will focus on the leadership, management, planning and direction of 杏吧原创鈥檚 fundraising and advancement initiatives.
Susan takes over from Jennifer Conley who left the position in March. I want to personally thank Jennifer for her many contributions to 杏吧原创 and wish her all the best in her future endeavors. The search for a permanent CAO will begin within the next six months.
Please join me in congratulating Susan on this appointment.
Sincerely,
Jerry Tomberlin
