Aaron Ettinger

Ettinger specializes in international relations and United States foreign policy. His current research focuses on continuity and change in U.S. foreign policy since 2001 and its implications for world order. His recently published work covers a range of issues including U.S. and Canadian foreign policy, the private military industry and international relations.

Fen Hampson

Philippe Lagass茅
Professor, Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at 杏吧原创 University

Lagass茅 is the Barton Chair at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. His research focuses on defence policy and military procurement, as well as civil-military relations, and the role of institutions in international policy-making in the Westminster tradition. Lagass茅 is currently a member of the Independent Review Panel for Defence Acquisition in the Department of National Defence.

Stephen Saideman
Paterson Chair in International Affairs, Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at 杏吧原创 University

Saideman鈥檚 research interests focus on the causes and consequences of intervention in intra-state conflicts. His current research deals with the role of legislatures in democratic civil-military relations. He teaches courses on contemporary international security, civil-military relations, and United States foreign and defence policy.

Leah West
Professor, Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at 杏吧原创 University

West is available to discuss the announcement as it relates to cyber issues.
West practices, studies and publishes in the field of national security law and completed her Doctor of Juridical Science at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2020. Her research explores the application of criminal, constitutional and international law to state conduct in cyberspace. She is also the National Administrator of the Canadian National Rounds of the Phillip C Jessup International Law Moot, and serves as Counsel with Friedman Mansour LLP.
West previously served as Counsel with the Department of Justice in the National Security Litigation and Advisory Group, where she appeared before the Federal Court in designated proceedings and the Security Intelligence Review Committee. Before being called to the Ontario Bar in 2016, Leah clerked for the Honourable Justice Mosley of the Federal Court of Canada. Prior to attending law school, Leah served in the Canadian Armed Forces for ten years as an Armoured Officer and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010.
