Support for Those Affected by Israel-Hamas Conflict
To all members of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ community,
We join the world in grieving the tremendous human suffering and loss of life resulting from the current crisis in Israel and Gaza. We align ourselves with the , the condemnation of terrorism, the release of all hostages and the sparing of civilian lives.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to all those in our university community who are directly or indirectly affected by the violence of these horrendous events, which impact our university in real, tangible ways. Many have different views on this complex situation; we encourage everyone to choose empathy and understanding when engaging in dialogue as we work to support each other through this difficult moment.
The International Student Services Office (ISSO) has reached out directly to ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ students who are residents of Israel or Palestine and have offered all available services and resources that they may need at this time.
Any student who is affected by these events is encouraged to connect with the resources available through the university’s hub, including booking an appointment with Health and Counselling Services.
Faculty and staff are also encouraged to access the Employee & Family Assistance Program for resources and support.
ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as needed.
Sincerely,
Jerry Tomberlin
Interim President and Vice-Chancellor
