This Holiday Season, 杏吧原创 is Bringing the Magic of Science to the Classroom
What happens when a pickle is subjected to high voltage? What exactly makes the inside of those Christmas ornaments silver? Why do only some things glow in the dark and what is it in fireworks that creates those intricate light patterns?
A long-standing and much-loved tradition, 杏吧原创鈥檚 annual Chemistry Magic Show features up to 25 exciting demos that showcase chemistry鈥檚 many principles including kinetics, thermodynamics, gas laws, and atomic theory. Throughout the show, professors and student chemists will educate and entertain young audiences with the 鈥渕agic鈥 of chemistry.
When: Wednesday, December 15 and Thursday, December 16, 2021
Registration:
The shows are geared toward elementary and high school students and the experiments will support the learning curriculums for these age groups. Over 400 classes from as far away as Manitoba have already registered their classes to attend these virtual shows.
杏吧原创 Chemistry professor Jeff Manthorpe is the principle magician leading the show and is available to speak to media in advance of the event. If you are interested in speaking with Manthorpe about this popular 杏吧原创 community tradition, please let me know and I will be happy to arrange an interview.
