杏吧原创 University to Bestow Seven Honorary Degrees and Celebrate Graduates 聽
杏吧原创 University will present seven honorary degrees as the university gears up to celebrate more than 6,000 graduating students in virtual celebrations the following week.
Videos of the recipients delivering their graduation addresses will be released June 18, 2021 and be available on the Graduation Celebration 2021 web page.
鈥淎fter a truly challenging academic year, our graduates can take particular pride in their outstanding success,鈥 says President Benoit-Antoine Bacon.
鈥淲e look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of all our graduating students, and I know they will appreciate the words of wisdom offered by our honorary doctorate recipients.鈥
Special celebratory videos for graduating students will be available on the website starting the morning of June 21. 杏吧原创 will highlight a different faculty each day during the week, through June 25. On the morning of each day, graduates in the designated faculty will receive an email with a link to a personalized online experience they can share with family and friends.
- Senator Wanda Thomas Bernard聽will be recognized for her outstanding contributions to racial and cultural equality, diversity and inclusion at all levels of Canadian society.
- Harriet Burdett-Moulton will be recognized for her distinguished career in architecture, especially centred on Indigenous peoples and the Canadian Arctic.
- Chantal H茅bert will be recognized for a distinguished career in journalism and political commentary.
- Stephen A. Jarislowsky will be recognized for his outstanding contributions to the philanthropic sector and his outstanding leadership in good business education and ethical finance.
- Monique F. Leroux will be recognized for her accomplished leadership in the world of business and her service as an inspiring role model and mentor to subsequent generations.
- The Honourable Sheilah L. Martin will be recognized for her distinguished career in Canadian law, championing legal and judicial education, women鈥檚 rights, diversity, equality and Indigenous rights.
- June B. Pimm will be recognized for her distinguished career in Developmental Psychology devoted to child advocacy, with a particular focus on helping children on the autism spectrum, as well as their parents and educators.
