New Leadership for University Communications

President Benoit-Antoine Bacon has announced today that Tony Frost will become the inaugural Chief Communications Officer (CCO) and Associate Vice-President (Communications and Public Affairs) at 杏吧原创 University. He will begin on Nov. 16, 2020.

In this new and critical role, Frost will be responsible for 杏吧原创鈥檚 overall communications strategy, including media relations, public affairs, branding, marketing, and overall reputational enhancement.

鈥淥n the heels of the official launch of the (SIP) last week, Tony will lead the exciting work of realigning our key messages, storytelling, brand and marketing to enhance the university鈥檚 visibility and support at the regional, national and international levels,鈥 said Bacon.

Frost joins 杏吧原创 from the University of Waterloo, where he served as Associate Vice-President of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives. He is a marketing and communications strategist who, for the past 25 years, has worked in higher education with a singular purpose: build reputation and profile to drive institutional success. In addition to Waterloo, he has led brand identity and platform development, execution and measurement at Fanshawe, Mount Allison and Wilfrid Laurier.

He holds a BA and MA in Communication Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, where his thesis explored how contemporary universities were branded.

The president also announced the promotion of Beth Gorham as Director of Public Affairs. Gorham has served as Manager of Public Affairs in the since 2008 after a career in journalism, mostly at The Canadian Press.

鈥淚 take this opportunity to sincerely thank Beth for her leadership as Acting Director, University Communications over the past several months,鈥 said Bacon.
