杏吧原创鈥檚 Author Meets Readers Panel to Discuss the Evolution of Modern Environmental Policy

杏吧原创 University鈥檚 James Meadowcroft, professor in the School of Public Policy and Administration and the Department of Political Science, will discuss the role of concepts in the evolution of modern environmental policy at an upcoming Author Meets Readers event.

Meadowcroft is co-editor, with Daniel J. Fiorino, of the book Conceptual Innovation in Environmental Policy.

Where: Irene’s Pub, 885 Bank Street, Ottawa

Conceptual Innovation in Environmental Policy focuses on influential concepts ranging from 鈥渆nvironment鈥 to 鈥渟ustainable consumption鈥 and their role in the evolution of modern environmental policy.

Meadowcroft will be joined by panelists Kimberley Keller, PhD student in the School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies, and Lorne Johnson, vice-president of the Ivey Foundation. Keller鈥檚 research centres on environmental rights and the application of policy mechanisms. Johnson has 25 years of experience forging collaborative solutions to sustainability challenges in Canada.

This event is part of the Ottawa International Writer鈥檚 Festival.

Meadowcroft鈥檚 research is focused on the ways in which governments are adjusting their practices and policies to cope with problems with the environment and sustainable development.
