杏吧原创 University Mourns Tragic Loss of Two Members of Our Community

Published on January 8, 2020

To All Members of the 杏吧原创 Community,

杏吧原创 University is mourning the tragic loss of two members of our community.

Fareed Arasteh, a PhD student in biology, was aboard the Ukrainian airliner that crashed in Tehran killing all 176 passengers and crew, including 63 Canadians. Also on the flight was biology alumnus Mansour Pourjam.

Our thoughts are with Fareed鈥檚 and Mansour鈥檚 families, friends and colleagues at this difficult time, and with everyone who has suffered loss in this terrible tragedy.

Campus flags have been lowered to half-mast to honour Fareed and Mansour, and all of the victims. Condolence books will be available on Thursday morning outside the Registrar鈥檚 Office on the ground floor of the Tory Building.

We are urging all members of our community to seek support if needed:
