杏吧原创 Announces 59 New COVID-19 Research Projects Across All Faculties to Help Fight Pandemic

To All Faculty and Staff,

It is with great pleasure that the Deans and I announce the recipients of the 杏吧原创 University COVID-19 Rapid Response Research Grants competition.

With an overwhelming response from our researchers, the Office of the Vice-President (Research and International) and the Faculties have jointly invested more than $800,000 in 59 projects across all five Faculties, a significant increase from our original plan.

Once again, the university proved its resiliency in pulling together the launch of this very important initiative in a timely manner. This program has the potential to contribute to the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic and will provide seed funding for individuals or teams of researchers for original, innovative and time-sensitive research. The funding will assist in leveraging external funding opportunities and partnerships targeting the COVID-19 pandemic. It will also provide much-needed opportunities for student employment.

From wellness and mental health, business and economic concerns to social adaptation and epidemiology, e-health technology and artificial intelligence, as well as impacts on Indigenous and international communities, 杏吧原创 University is demonstrating its strengths and leadership in key areas of research.

The Deans and I would like to thank all those who responded so quickly to this call for proposals. We are notably impressed by the depth and breadth of the work being done here at 杏吧原创 for the greater good of Canadians and society as a whole.

Congratulations to our recipients! We look forward to telling your research stories in the near future.
