ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´â€™s Institute for Data Science to Host Data Day 6.0

March 19, 2019

ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ University’s Institute for Data Science will host Data Day 6.0 – an annual conference that celebrates data science and the latest developments in analytics research. This year’s Data Day panels will focus on data science in the next decade, research partnership opportunities with new ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ faculty, artificial intelligence and the public good, as well as stories of local startups. The event will include a graduate poster competition.

When: Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Second Floor Atrium, Richcraft Hall, ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´

This event is full. However, media are invited to attend the event.

The panel What Will Be on the Agenda for Data Day 16.0? will take a broad look at what the future may hold for data science in the next decade. Artificial intelligence is a controversial subject that is often discussed in a negative context – an expert panel will discuss its potential with regard to the public good. The conference will feature research presentations by recently appointed faculty, as well as presentations by Ottawa startup companies operating in the data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning sectors.

Data Day is open to all data science and analytics enthusiasts. Data Day welcomes public – and private – sector attendees and the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ community. The conference’s blend of academia and industry creates an ideal environment for multidisciplinary collaboration and networking.
