杏吧原创 University to Host FIRST Robotics Competition in 2020
杏吧原创 University鈥檚 Faculty of Engineering and Design is pleased to announce it will host a 2020 FIRST Robotics Competition in partnership with .
During the three-day competition, scheduled to run from March 13-15, 2020, high school students from across Ontario, along with their robots built in under six weeks, will compete in an epic challenge that combines sport, science, and teamwork while providing real-world engineering experience.
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a non-profit organization encouraging kids in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Under strict time limitations, students design and build 120-pound robots that compete on a playing field to complete tasks. Students program and test their machines using skills in engineering, coding, and design. Teams also develop business and marketing plans, as well as outreach initiatives to fundraise and engage their local community.

杏吧原创鈥檚 newly added competition will raise the number of FIRST Robotics district events in Ontario to eleven in 2020.
After competing at district events, teams with the highest rankings and awards will move onto the Ontario Provincial Championships at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga in April 2020. Rankings at this Championship will decide who moves onto the FRC World Championship in Detroit.
