Epidemiological studies indicate that individuals with access to nature tend to have healthier babies, improved mental health and lower risks of developing numerous chronic diseases. Nature also plays an important role in reducing harmful environmental exposure to air pollution and noise.
In this lecture, Villeneuve will discuss the role a city鈥檚 built environment plays in the health of its residents, as well as the direct and indirect benefits of green space.
The lecture will explore related research, including several of Villeneuve鈥檚 assessments of associations between greenness and physical activity, as well as environmental exposures studies in and around the Central Experimental Farm.
The Science Caf茅 series is organized by the at 杏吧原创 to discuss relevant issues facing our society and how science can help solve real-world problems.
