Thousands of 杏吧原创 Students to Receive Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees
杏吧原创 University will present eight honorary degrees at its Spring Convocation ceremonies taking place from Tuesday, June 12 to Friday, June 15, 2018.

鈥溞影稍 is pleased to celebrate the remarkable contributions of our honorary degree recipients at Spring Convocation,鈥 said Interim President Alastair Summerlee. 鈥淎s the class of 2018 moves forward, the wisdom and experiences of these inspirational individuals will serve our graduates well as they make their mark on our world.鈥
Recipients will be awarded either an honorary Doctor of Laws or Doctor of Engineering.
杏吧原创 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students will receive their degrees over the eight ceremonies. Two ceremonies will be held each day in the University Fieldhouse. The morning ceremonies will start at 9:30 a.m. and the afternoon ceremonies will begin at 2 p.m.
Media are invited to attend. The ceremonies will be broadcast online via live streaming at carleton.ca/convocation/live.

Gilles Patry will be recognized for his leadership in fostering co-operation and innovation in the post-secondary education sector in the Ottawa region and Canada.
Tuesday, June 12, at the 2 p.m. ceremony
Helen Clark, former prime minister of New Zealand, will be recognized for her role as an outstanding international leader committed to the values of equality and social empowerment.
Wednesday, June 13 at the 9:30 a.m. ceremony
Jayne Stoyles will be recognized for her outstanding contributions to international issues of human rights.
Wednesday, June 13 at the 2 p.m. ceremony
Catherine Frazee will be recognized for her extraordinary leadership as a writer, educator, activist and advocate for the promotion and inclusion of disability studies, art, culture and action in Canada.
Thursday, June 14 at the 9:30 a.m. ceremony
Peter Buckley will be recognized for his extraordinary contribution to international business education and research.
Thursday, June 14 at the 2 p.m. ceremony
Gordon Hicks will be recognized for his extraordinary commitment to a sustainable low-carbon future, through innovation, leadership and advocacy for the highest standards of practice in energy-efficient buildings.
Friday, June 15 at the 9:30 a.m. ceremony
Steven Davis will be recognized for his valuable contribution to the promotion of higher education in developing countries and his distinguished academic career.
Friday, June 15 at the 2 p.m. ceremony
Gerison Lansdown will be recognized for her extraordinary leadership in advocating for children鈥檚 rights.
Spring Convocation will feature the first graduates from these new programs: Bachelor of Health Sciences, Bachelor of Journalism and Humanities, Bachelor of Global and International Studies, Bachelor of Economics and Master of Public Policy and Administration.
