杏吧原创 University Art Gallery Announces the Stonecroft Symposium: In Dialogue

杏吧原创 University Art Gallery (CUAG) announces the launch of the Stonecroft Symposium series. This free annual programming, held over the next five years, is made possible with a generous gift from the Stonecroft Foundation for the Arts.
When: Saturday, 12 May 2018 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 杏吧原创 University Art Gallery and St. Patrick鈥檚 Building Room 100
Note: Attendance is free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not necessary. Coffee and tea will be provided. Attendees can buy lunch in the Residence Commons cafeteria.
The symposium series enables CUAG to cultivate discussions of timely and relevant ideas raised by the artists who lead our programming, and to encourage open and reciprocal public exchange.
The Stonecroft Symposium: In Dialogue will create a forum for conversations initiated by the First Nations, M茅tis and Sami artists featured in CUAG鈥檚 summer exhibition, In Dialogue, organized by John G. Hampton. As Hampton has said, the works of the artists embrace the 鈥渢umble of connections and contradictions that constitute contemporary Indigenous identities.鈥
The symposium features artists Raven Davis, Jason Lujan, Nadia Myre and Nicole Kelly Westman, a keynote by Cathy Mattes, an exhibition tour, a performance by Peter Morin and a panel discussion moderated by John Hampton. Other participants include Michelle LaVallee, Alexandra Kahsenni:io Nahwegabow, Danielle Printup, and Summer-Harmony Twenish. CUAG will release a full schedule soon.
CUAG acknowledges with sincere gratitude the support of the Stonecroft Foundation for the Arts, which promotes education in the visual arts and fosters the public鈥檚 appreciation of the visual arts.
