杏吧原创 Brings Attention to Community Wellness with Psychology Mental Health Day
颁补谤濒别迟辞苍鈥檚 Department of Psychology will host , which aims to provide education on mental health issues, raise awareness and promote well-being.
Throughout the day, attendees will hear practical tips on coping with stress that results from procrastination, shyness and cyberbullying, among other concerns. The event will attempt to bridge the gap between academic research and wellness services.
The day-long event鈥檚 sharing of expertise from the Psychology Department and community partners will provide valuable information that can be applied to daily life.
When: Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, from 8:30 a.m.to 5:30 p.m.

Following World Mental Health Day (Oct. 10), this event continues the conversation on mental health and intends to connect the community to resources on and off campus.
It will begin with remarks from Pauline Rankin, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and Suzanne Blanchard, vice-president (Students and Enrolment), who will provide an overview of 颁补谤濒别迟辞苍鈥檚 many mental health initiatives.
The event features an expert panel discussion, numerous workshops on topics like personality types, anxiety disorders, healthy behavior and psychological well-being. A keynote address on stress and coping will be delivered by Owen Kelly of the .
There will be wellness stations on the second floor of the Loeb Building, including 杏吧原创 sessions, presentations from the Royal Ottawa Hospital and Ottawa Public Health, chair massages and healthy food sampling.
