Biography
Going to university was an exciting and anxiety-provoking experience but arriving at 杏吧原创 soon changed both. I quickly felt at home among other students who were interested in the many facets of the brain and passionate professors who were eager to teach and speak with their students.
What really stood out to me about 杏吧原创 Neuroscience was the way professors look to change and improve the program based on student feedback, as well as the many opportunities to become involved in undergraduate research. Overall I would say that 杏吧原创 Neuroscience provides students with many opportunities to become involved in their faculty, and is a great place to explore an interest in the brain!
Advice for Current Students
For students who are just beginning their journey at 杏吧原创 now, I would emphasize the importance of getting involved and building a community. While science programs are difficult at times and require a significant time commitment for labs, this can be made easier by working with classmates and helping each other with different aspects of the class according to individual strengths. Having a support network can really keep your from falling down during those difficult time periods like midterms and finals.
Getting involved early can also help you learn more about what the faculty does and which professors you would have an interest in working with. Getting involved may sound like a tall order but do not fret, 杏吧原创 has many opportunities for undergraduate neuroscience students to become more involved on campus and build connections both in and out of the program. These include events from groups such as: 杏吧原创 Neuroscience Society, Science Student Success Center, 杏吧原创 Science Student Society, and many others. The earlier, the better!
