From September 23 to 26, Lost Baggage Musical Theatre is producing James McGowan鈥檚 New Life, in five shows at .
With the book, lyrics, and music created by Dr. McGowan, this new jazz-rock musical dramedy features a cast of 12, a six-piece ensemble, and full production team. Artistic Director Joy Mwandemange and Producer Mathieu Charlebois are both 杏吧原创 Music alumni, as are several members of the production.
The show follows a fractured family as they navigate grief, trauma, and the complicated process of finding their way back to one another. It features an emotional, funny, and hopeful story with an incredible score. A new original cast CD and digital album will also be released during the run of the show.

Also, on Thursday September 24 from 6:30 to 7, there will be a free pre-show presentation open to everyone entitled 鈥淐are-Centred Storytelling: Gender-Based Violence and New Life.鈥 Presented by Bailey Reid (Senior Advisor on Gender and Sexual Violence Prevention and Support at 杏吧原创 University) and Dr. McGowan, this pre-performance talk is an interactive discussion of how writing stories, scripts鈥攁nd musicals鈥攃an be a constructive force to help combat gender-based violence.
