Dominique Watts, Student
Dominique lives in Montreal, and in 2019, she graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in Sociology. She volunteered and worked for summer day camps and after-school programs that provided programs for children and youth, and worked for organizations working with women, families, and Montreal鈥檚 homeless population.
Dominique has always been passionate about helping people. She was drawn to the nonprofit sector because of the opportunities to help build and contribute to effective and meaningful services that provide assistance and positive change in the lives of people.
She’s also learned from her past work and volunteer experiences that effective community impact requires more than having a passion and desire to help people. Being successful in providing real and long-term change requires effective program evaluation, leadership, and organizational development skills, as well as policy-making that’s solution-oriented.
This is what drew her to the MPNL program in particular. She hopes that this program will provide her with the necessary skills and insights that will help her to promote community well-being.
