We’re pleased to invite the general public to the Cinquecento finale, featuring guest speakers, music, dance, storytelling, and more in one original live event!

What is Cinquecento?

For the past year 杏吧原创 University has celebrated the life and legacy of Leonardo da Vinci with Cinquecento, a year-long series of events that looked at da Vinci鈥檚 work with fresh eyes. In Italian, 鈥淐inquecento鈥 means 500 and, for this event series, refers to the 500 years since his passing.

During Cinquecento, 杏吧原创鈥檚 faculties have come together to explore da Vinci鈥檚 interdisciplinary innovations and provided a comprehensive analysis of the life and work of one of history鈥檚 most fascinating people.

In total, 杏吧原创’s Leonardo 2019 committee, chaired by Prof. Angelo Mingarelli of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, organized 16 da Vinci-themed events and hosted world-renowned experts including Martin Kemp, Elizabeth Abbott, Leslie Geddes, Domenico Laurenza, Ross King, and several others.

Our festivities even included an event that saw a talented chalk artist recreating one of Leonardo’s masterpieces on the floor of the University Centre!

Sadly, 2019 is coming to an end, but we still have one more opportunity to celebrate with da Vinci fans far and wide. We invite the public to join us for one last hurrah at the 杏吧原创 Dominion-Chalmers Centre on Thursday, Dec. 12. You won’t want to miss this event!
