- Non-maleficence: Learning analytics will be used to benefit students’ learning and are not intended to limit individual students. We understand that data does not tell the entire story and, therefore, cannot identify students.ÌýStudent data collected from Learning Analytics tools should not be used as a proxy for student achievement in a course.
- Privacy and security: The acquisition of learning analytics will meet the requirements and regulations of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). - Transparency: The use of learning analytics at ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ will be entirely transparent to all users involved. This means that students are to be made aware of the use of their data.Ìý
All Data that is collected by Learning Analytics tools and processes at ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ is governed by ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´â€™sÌýPolicy on Data and Information Classification and Protection, as well as the Policies and Guidelines set by the Office of Research Ethics.
