Julie-Ann Kirkpatrick

PhD Candidate

Julie Kirkpatrick completed a  B.A. (Honours) and M.A. from Trent University, majoring in Canadian Studies and History. She attended Osgoode Hall Law School and ran her own practice for 20 years before returning to school to begin her PhD program in Legal Studies & Political Economy.  Her longstanding focus on section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms informs her doctoral work today. 

Julie successfully defended her comprehensive examination in May of 2026 under the supervision of Dr. Stacy Douglas. She resides in Victoria, B.C.
