Deliah Bernard is a trusted Indigenous Affairs strategist and proud Mi鈥檏maw woman from the We鈥檏oqma鈥檘 First Nation. Grounded in a commitment to giving back to community, she brings a rare combination of lived experience, institutional fluency, and deep community knowledge to complex policy and relationship-building work.
Most recently, Deliah served as Senior Indigenous Affairs Advisor to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, helping advance some of Canada鈥檚 most significant Indigenous policy files. Her experience includes supporting the Government of Canada鈥檚 response to the Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, managing Pope Francis鈥檚 historic visit to Canada, and coordinating the Cabinet Committee on Reconciliation.
