A unique exhibition and culinary experience inviting museum visitors, local history buffs, and foodies to discover Ottawa’s evolving relationship with food, Morsels of Memory brings food-related stories and artifacts from Watson’s Mill, Goulbourn Museum, and the Diefenbunker together for the first time in a single exhibition. On display March 30 – April 11, 2019 at Gallery 112 of the City of Ottawa’s award-winning archives and material resources centre, this food heritage exhibition is designed to attract new museum visitors and food tourists.

Morsels of Memory explores local food production, food as an organizing principle of community, and the oscillation between peace-time abundance and war rationing and stockpiling in the 20^th century. More than an exhibition, Morsels of Memory encourages local food tourism through twinned local museum and restaurant promotions, designed to encourage Ottawans to discover their local food heritage, culture, and scene.

Morsels of Memory was curated and designed by �Ӱ�ԭ�� University’s Curatorial Studies (CURA 5002) students for the Ottawa Museum Network, in partnership with the City of Ottawa Archives. It is part of an innovative and experimental pilot project to increase visitorship to local museums, and is the capstone project for CURA 5002: Material and Intangible Cultures Stream.
