Lauren鈥檚 passion for forensic psychology was sparked in 2018 while taking seminar courses on adolescent offenders and female offenders with Dr. Shelley Brown. She completed her B.A. in Psychology at 杏吧原创 University under the supervision of Dr. Julie Blais in 2020. Fittingly, Lauren is currently pursuing her master鈥檚 degree in Forensic Psychology under the supervision of Dr. Shelley Brown in the Gender & Crime Lab.
Research: For her undergraduate thesis, Lauren examined the effect of pre-trial publicity on mock juror decision-making. Switching gears for her master鈥檚 thesis, she is currently exploring perceptions of female-perpetrated intimate partner violence using experimental vignette methodology. Additional independent projects include assessing the risks and needs of female offenders convicted of violent crimes.
Future Goals: After her master鈥檚 degree, Lauren hopes to continue her studies at the Ph.D level.
