Emma McFarlane

M.A. Student

Emma completed a Bachelor of Social Work at Chatham University and a B.A in Psychology at 杏吧原创 University.

Emma is currently pursuing her M.A. in Forensic Psychology at 杏吧原创 University under the supervision of Dr. Shelley Brown.

Emma鈥檚 Honours thesis examined whether youth age influences: 1) criminogenic need-to-treatment matching in a community diversion setting, and 2) whether age influences the ability of the YLS/CMI to predict treatment non-compliance as a proxy for recidivism. For her Master鈥檚 thesis, Emma will be examining the trajectories of offending behaviours among justice-involved individuals through a lens of risks, strengths, race, and gender.

Emma鈥檚 goal is to combine her passion for forensic risk and strength assessments and clinical intervention. Upon completion of her M.A., Emma plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Forensic Psychology and work with justice-involved youth.
