Held on May 3rd at the in the MacOdrum Library at Ӱԭ University, the Atlas in a Day workshop offered participants the opportunity to explore the theme of “Fragility” through the art of mapmaking. The workshop was guided by Laurence Simard-Gagnon, a professor in the department of psychosociology and social work at Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR), Lévis campus.

Over the full-day workshop, participants had the chance to dive into creative storytelling through the mapping process. At the end of the workshop, the maps produced by the participants were compiled to create a curated atlas centered around the theme of fragility. Aya Usama, an MA in Anthropology student, added a unique touch with a beautiful live cover drawing for the curated atlas. A big thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to this event’s success. We’re excited about future opportunities to continue to explore ways of storytelling through mapping.
