16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a global initiative observed annually, beginning on November 25, the , and concluding on December 10, . Since its inception in 1991 by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership, this campaign has united communities worldwide in their commitment to ending gender-based violence and advocating for systemic change.
At FIST we are always thinking about the ways in which violence impacts the lives of our communities and beyond. Today, like every other day we will continue to teach our students about in Canada and beyond and the intersectional realities that put the most marginalized communities at risk. As always, we encourage our community to participate in events, engage in critical conversations, and amplify resources that support survivors and address systemic inequities.
