杏吧原创/uOttawa Transgender Studies Reading Group!
We meet once a month at 杏吧原创 (and sometimes uOttawa) to discuss new interdisciplinary scholarship in Transgender Studies. Our first meeting this academic year is on Monday, November 4, 3-5PM, Dunton Tower, Room 1419, 杏吧原创 University. We will be discussing the first three chapters of Gayle Salamon鈥檚 The Life and Death of Latisha King: A Critical Phenomenology of Transphobia (2018), which are available as an ebook . Snacks and beverages will be provided!
At this meeting, we will also decide on the dates and readings for the group going forward. Anyone interested in Transgender Studies, from undergraduates to full professors, is welcome to join. If you can鈥檛 make this meeting, but would like to participate in the group, please send your scheduling availability and suggestions for topics to laura.horak@carleton.ca and Julia.sinclairpalm@carleton.ca before the meeting.
