A new policy brief has been published on “Cities as key policy actors: strengthening urban responses to displacement in the global South’, led by Dr Myriam Cherti, the IDRC Research Chair on Forced Displacement at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) in Rabat. The brief is based on the contributions and discussions we had during our webinar in April.

Peru Chair Luisa Feline Freier writes about Venezuelan migration in the Global South, mostly in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the need for more focus on South-South displacement:

Hiram Ángel: DATA Centre and ECOS in Transit Program

The IDRC Research Chair at the University of Guadalajara, Hiram Angel, is currently engaged in the following research activities:

1. DATA Center – A project using secondary data to analyze information and create geo-referenced maps to identify risks and critical situations for people who are forcibly displaced.
2. ECOS in Transit Program – an audiovisual project whose purpose is to collect qualitative information to create podcasts, digital narratives, infographics, interviews, images and videos of different situations and/or actors of migration.
