Luisa Feline Freier holds the position of Associate Professor of Political Science at the Universidad del Pac铆fico in Lima, Peru. Her research is centered on migration and refugee policies and laws in Latin America, with a particular focus on south-south migration and the Venezuelan displacement crisis. She has made significant contributions to both academic and media discourse, with her work appearing in a wide range of outlets. Professor Freier’s expertise on the Venezuelan displacement crisis has led to interviews with major international media outlets, including BBC, El Pa铆s, La Presse, and The Economist.
Beyond her research and media engagements, Professor Freier has provided advisory services to numerous international institutions and organizations, including Amnesty International, ICRC, IDB, IOM, UNHCR, the World Bank, and the EU. She serves as the Migration Research and Publishing High-Level Adviser of the IOM.
