Video: Play for Ukraine Concert
On Thursday, April 28, 杏吧原创 University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences partnered with Ottawa Chamberfest and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Ottawa Branch, to present a concert in support of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation鈥檚 Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
The renowned Gryphon Trio joined Chamberfest Artistic Director and violinist Carissa Klopoushak, violinist Emily Kruspe, soprano Irina Medvedeva, actor Moriana Kachmarsky, Ukrainian village voice ensemble Kolizhanky, and Laurence Ewashko and his Ewashko Singers in a celebrating Ukrainian music and culture, featuring Ukrainian chamber music, choral music, folk singing, and poetry.
The concert, supported by Jonathan Krehm and Canzona Chamber Players, took place at the 杏吧原创 Dominion-Chalmers Centre in downtown Ottawa. Volunteers from the Ukrainian Canadian Congress were onsite to accept donations before and after the performance, collecting over $55,000 in audience donations for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
