What is it?
Program Codes are typically four digits in length and are the fourth element of the聽. They represent the functional use of each transaction, such as Instruction, Research, or Administration.
Why is it important?
The program code tells us how we used our money. It is primarily used by the Controller鈥檚 Office to prepare financial reports that compare 杏吧原创鈥檚 use of funding to other universities. Most of our financial systems either hide this element or provide a default value for this code. It is recommended that default values be left alone when entering a transaction.
