What is it?

As a聽聽the university is legally required to engage in Competitive Procurement. This requirement is outlined in the university鈥檚聽Procurement Policy, Ontario鈥檚聽, and other relevant trade Agreements. You may see the different document types used in Competitive Procurements referred to generally as 鈥淩Fx鈥 (specific examples include RFPs, RFTs, RFQs, and RFIs).

As outlined in the Procurement Policy, some procurements require an open Competitive Procurement. This is a transparent and legally compliant process for soliciting goods or services through a public tender. An open Competitive Procurement provides all vendors in the market with the opportunity to submit their proposals.

Why is it important?

Knowing the required processes for your procurement will ensure you are able to plan your timelines accordingly, and avoid last minute surprises or project impacts.
