The Chair supports teaching, research, and outreach activities relating to the EU鈥檚 relations with the Russian Federation and partner countries of the EU鈥檚 Eastern Partnership policy (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine). The Chair supports teaching and reaches out to students with East European interests from a variety of academic programs. EUREAST also hosts research, outreach, and reflection events that will engage researchers and the policy community in Ottawa, facilitating discussion about the EU鈥檚 relations with Eastern Europe, how this reflects the EU鈥檚 changing global role, and what this means for Canada.

The Chair was established in 2011, supported by the European Union鈥檚聽, and was 杏吧原创鈥檚 first Jean Monnet Chair. Since September 2016 the Chair is supported by a grant from the EU鈥檚 and by 杏吧原创 University.
