Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training
This mandatory Worker Health and Safety Awareness training is designed to help prevent workplace injuries by making workers and supervisors aware of their roles, rights and responsibilities in the workplace.
Who must complete this training?
All workers at 杏吧原创 University are required to complete this training. Please note that the definition of “worker” includes staff, faculty, teaching assistants, contract instructors, casual employees, and those undertaking unpaid placements.
Supervisors and managers are required to complete the in addition to the Worker Health & Safety Awareness. If you are in a position of authority to at least one person, you are considered a supervisor (e.g. professors).
How do I access the training?
Employees of 杏吧原创 are automatically enrolled in this mandatory session within Brightspace. It will be found in your list of “my courses”. If it is not in your “my courses” follow the instructions below to self enroll. The Worker Health & Safety Awareness training is available online.

- Select the correct course in 鈥淢y Courses鈥. 聽If the course is not listed in 鈥淢y courses鈥, search for the training through the Discover link in the navigation bar and self register by following the on-screen instructions.

In-class
An in-class Young Worker Health & Safety Awareness training is also offered in May of each year. As Young Workers are an identified vulnerable population, this training ensures that 杏吧原创’s student-workers have been given the tools necessary to work safely.

- Roles played by the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC), Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), and other Health & Safety Associations
