CREWW Changes Name to CRIW to Reflect Expansion of Research Focus to Inclusion
杏吧原创 University鈥檚 Centre for Research and Education on Women and Work (CREWW) today announced it is expanding its research scope to focus on inclusion of under-represented populations at work and changing its name to the Centre for Research on Inclusion at Work (CRIW).
Founded in 1992, CREWW鈥檚 aim was to champion the advancement of women at work through research and education. The Centre recently broadened its mission to conducting and sharing research that advances diversity, equity and inclusion at work.
No longer focusing only on women, CRIW鈥檚 research focus is on the inclusion of under-represented populations at work, including women, immigrants, visible minorities, and indigenous individuals, among others.
CRIW co-directors, and , commented on the change. 鈥淲e wanted to not only be more inclusive of current conceptualizations of gender, but also continue to expand knowledge around participation at work,鈥 commented Dr. Bujaki. 鈥淎fter extensive consultations, expanding our research scope to inclusion of under-represented populations at work seemed like a natural evolution of our mission.鈥
鈥淲e are excited about the change,鈥 added Dr. Nardon. 鈥淲e are actively building a network of scholars, Sprott graduate students and the broader community to pursue a broad range of research interests and seek innovative solutions towards more inclusive workplaces.鈥
