(CSFS) is seeking a research assistant to gather data that assess the state of Canada’s food systems using existing economic, social, environmental and policy-based indicators. The project will support ongoing research of the CSFS, which uses food systems as a lens for understanding and acting on some of the most pressing issues facing communities.

The prospective student can be based anywhere in Canada and will work from May – August 2016 (approximately 15 hours per week) under the supervision of Dr. Charles Levkoe and Dr. Alison Blay-Palmer. Interested students should be registered in a masters or PhD program and have experience working with Statistics Canada data and other types of metrics databases. A strong interest in sustainable food systems and food sovereignty is an asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.
