On April 4, 2013, journalist Roger Smith moderated a conversation between the German and French Ambassadors as a part of the European Perspectives Lecture Series. This event was entitled “French-German Relations since the Elysee Treaty,” 聽and the focus of the conversation was the development of their respective countries’ relationship since the Elysee Treaty was signed in 1963, but also touched on the current state of the European Union in light of the Eurocrisis. H.E. Werner Wnendt and H.E. Philippe Zeller were forthcoming in their discussion of relations and spoke frankly about their confidence in the European Union to weather this current trouble.
