Environment Days are coming to 杏吧原创 University, hosted by the Centre for European Studies, the German Embassy, the Goethe Institute and the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism.聽 From October 15 until October 19 Environment Days will be headlined by an art exhibit in the Galleria of the University Centre entitled 鈥淏erlin on the Go: Towards a Pedestrian Friendly City.鈥
The art display exhibits different, innovative initiatives that the city of Berlin uses to encourage people to walk, cycle and use public transit.聽 All this is done in an effort to create a more livable city. The city has introduced a variety of incentives to encourage this, including wider sidewalks, diagonal crossings, more green spaces, public squares and pedestrian zones.聽 As a result, Berlin is a safer and more pleasant city in which to live and people are encouraged to use more environmental forms of transportation.
