I’m doing incredible things which I never thought I would ever be able to do. 100% I would recommend. It’s gonna be tough at the start, there’s gonna be difficulties that they will encounter, but I think for first years, there’s nothing that gives you as much experience as this. This is the best thing I could’ve done with my summer. Obviously, I wanted to get some type of job, but this internship has been so rewarding and I’m so glad I got it. There’s something different from being in the classrooms and learning stuff [than] being in the lab and doing experiments using some of those equations you see and you’re like “when am I ever gonna use this in real life?”

I have learned more data managing skills (mainly using Excel), modeling software skills such as Aermod and CadnaA, and writing skills for reports, proposals, and learned the steps to receiving a contract and the general workings of engineering contracts.
I have learned more engineering language to communicate between different levels of management and between companies.
I have also learned skills in organization and proper logging of steps taken for both Quality Control & Quality Assurance which are very important in the engineering world.

It initially took [time] for things to get going, but once they did, I was able to gained a more detailed understanding of what research looks like in the department for graduate students.
