Isabella Hearne Wins Ronald Doste Prize for OCIENE Winter 2026 Seminar

On April 9th, Isabella Hearne shared her presentation Impacts of Gas Transport on the Reliability of Near-Surface Detection of Leaking COâ‚‚ at The Ottawa-ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ Institute for Environmental Engineering (OCIENE) Winter Seminar, winning her the Ronald Doste Prize for Best Presentation.

Congratulations, Isabella!

Honourable mentions go to Elisabeth Mercier for her talk on Wastewater and Environmental Monitoring for Early RSV Season Detection and Public Health Action and Rachel Parson for her presentation Machine Learning Algorithm to Emulate ISORROPIA within CMAQ. They both received certificates of appreciation.

The OCIENE seminar sessions are part of the requirements for the Environmental Engineering degree programs, serving as an important vehicle for technical communication within the institute. They present an opportunity to inform the environmental engineering community in Ottawa about the current research activities of students and faculty in the Institute. A Best Presentation Award is presented at each seminar series.
