Ronak Ghorbani is a PhD Candidate (ABD)聽in the Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change, York University. Her research focuses on diasporic Iranian women鈥檚 life histories by exploring relationships between engagement with arts, political practices, experiences of revolution and migration.
With her colleague Azar Masoumi (杏吧原创 University) Ronak聽is creating an online Oral History archive on memories of the 1979 Iranian revolution (funded by a 杏吧原创 University-SSHRC Knowledge Mobilization Exchange Grant). This archive, titled聽Enghelab Shod聽[Farsi for 鈥淭he Revolution Happened鈥漖 emphasizes embodied and affective dimensions of memory and aims to understand the Iranian revolution from the perspective of folks who lived through it.
